When Bethany places a phone call in the dream, I thought it would provide a great opportunity so hint at the "dream state". Assuming for a second that New York City is, quite literally, inside Bethany's head, I decided to augment the phone ringing tone with the sounds of Bethany's synapses. I wanted to make it seem like Bethany is literally sending out a cry for Andy through the walls of her mind.
